
Adele Mara (April 28, 1923 - May 7, 2010 American) was an American actor and singer. She was a part of films in the 1940s as well as the 1950s[2] in addition to on television during the 1950s as well as the 1960s. Under the professional name of Adele St. Mara, she was signed to Columbia Pictures[citation neededand gained experience working in the studio's "B" feature films as well as comedy shorts. Soon, this was shortened to Adele Mara. Mara was the receptionist in Three Stooges' film I Can Hardly Wait. Mara Brooks and Leslie Brooks were the sisters of Rita Hayworth in the Fred Astaire movie You Were Never Lovelier. Brooks plays Alias Boston Blackie (1942) in the role of the sister of an unjustly accused and released convict. She moved to Republic Pictures after her Columbia contract was ended. The studio specialized in Westerns and outdoor adventures. She was a part in The Vampire's Ghost, Wake of the Red Witch which starred John Wayne, Angels in Exile (leading ladies), Sands of Iwo Jima (John Wayne's love partner), California Passage (leading ladies) and Don Siegel's Count the Hours(supporting role).
