Zoe-perry
Perry was born to actor Laurie Metcalf, and Jeff Perry. On the ABC sitcom Roseanne (in flashback) Her mother portrayed Jackie Harris in two of Perry's early TV appearances. The parents of her didn't want her to take on acting roles until she was older and worried about the consequences of stress. Perry said that she was shy to do any acting in high school but began doing shows in the theater at Northwestern University as a way to connect with people following her transfer to the university from Boston University. Perry following her graduation from Boston University, relocating from Boston to New York in search of TV roles. She landed small parts in TV shows like Law & Order: Criminal Intent. However, homesickness led her to California for theater roles. Perry's mother and I appeared on Broadway as a couple with her in The Other Place, in 2013. She performed with her father Kevin McKidd and Eugene O'Neill's Pulitzer Prize winning drama Anna Christie in 2015 at the Odyssey Theatre Ensemble, West Los Angeles. In 2016, Perry appeared on nine episodes of ABC's thriller The Family. She had a regular role as a character on ABC Drama about politics Scandal that starred her dad. She was also cast in the CBS comedy The Big Bang Theory spin-off Young Sheldon as a version younger than Mary Cooper, Sheldon Cooper's mother. Despite having a family connection to this character, she received the part through an audition.
